This was on Dallas WFAA Channel 8 tonight and on their website. Its the new acquisition for the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. Its a beautiful 1944 M4A4 Sherman Tank (Israeli conversion to an M50 Super Sherman). It has battle damage and history serving in Normandy, Ardennes, 6-Day War, and the Yom Kippur war. The video includes Doug Jeanes and I. I couldnt ask for anything more exciting than driving that tank! Hope you all like it!

P.S. You'll have to sit through a 20 second advertisement...

What a great news story...you seemed at home in front of the camera!
BTW, that tank doesn't really weigh 77,000 TONS does it?! I hope they meant pounds...

I agree completely, the news spot seemed very natural to you. The Sherman looks great. Congratulations.

Great work Taylor. Can't wait to see it in person. BTW, wasn't that tank also featured on "Tank Overhaul" on the Military Channel?

Nope. I saw that military channel special last night. This sherman was used in the israeli army up until 1991 when a man brought it over to the U.S. and restored it to original Israeli M50 Super Sherman condition. It was then purchased by a gentleman in Frederickburg TX and restored from 2003-2005 into semi-original M4A4 configuration. This is an ORIGINAL complete tank, not two haves welded together. The outside doesnt do it justice! I would eat off of the interior...of course I'd just about anywhere :?

I want to thank you for that it is great to see younger folks like yourseof get interested in preserving history.

When I say younger, I put myself in that catagory as well, only being 36 and a Vet too, I love that I am helping in the history of a generation above me too!

Great story and GREAT JOB!!!

Thank you very much Mr. Krumrei! Theres stories that need to be told and not enough people to tell them, I'm trying to get as many as I can out there for my generation and those to come. Thank you for your service.
