That looks like a neat little show. And I see proceeds are being directed to the B-29 "Doc" restoration...most cool. (Someone oughta let their webmaster know, though, that the A-model Mustang builder's name is "Beck", not "Becker"!)

I have to wonder, if he's still up and about, might Walt Soplata visit that show? The ref to Geauga County reminded me how very near Newbury this area is. Last time I ever saw Walt was at an airshow...Mt.Hope's, in either 1987 or 1988...time flies...(Cook Cleland's airfield, whence Walt got two Corsair airframes circa 1953, was in Willoughby also, off Euclid Avenue, BTW. One of Cleland's hangars there supposedly still stands.)

I love the name of this airport, too. "Lost Nation". So evocative and sombre-sounding. Anyone know where the name came from?

S.

Walter is actually a cool guy and aviation legend. The airshow looks great. I am a huge fan of that P-51.

I think just from the name of the road it’s on. It was a private GA airport for many decades before the city bought it and saved it from becoming a subdivision.

I popped in there a few months ago; somebody built a *huge* hangar there that is now being used as some sort of sports complex with tennis courts, batting cages, etc.
