The following is a "third-hand" e-mail recevied from our CAF SoCalWing PBJ Restoration Crew Chief. I do not know the history of this incident nor if it has previously been posted on WIX...just thought it may be interesting to some.

Here is a classic story and fortunately this fellow told it before he, too, passed away. A neighbor of mine was a P&W flight test engineer who also served on board a B-36. His wife gave me his B-36 Flight Engineer's manual. It is huge as was the plane. This is a long story and there are several parts but it is told in a manner that most aviation minded folks will find it difficult to put down. It is a keeper!
