I suspect the Me-262 project is having a hard time selling the remaining two replica 262s to buyers who would like them for actual fliers. Perhaps it is hard to find a warbird operator with necessary rating for twin jet engine operation?

I have thought the 262s would make decent static displays. I wish I had the spare change to buy one for the museum here in Ottawa. It would look great parked near-by the Bf-109 and Me-163.

I've wondered if the slow sales have to do with the fact they do not seem to be getting much flight time in or publicity. It seems that the first one dropped off the map and the one in Germany has only showed up to 1 airshow. I think the Collings buying one could really help the others move, hopefully to loving homes that will let them take to the air. It seems sad to think of hem going for static display.

Folks,

One of the 262s has always been slated as a static example and we are just offering it at a REALLY good price to make some room for other projects, like the 109s and a P-51.

I would appreciate any leads from anyone knowing of a museum or collector who would see the value in having a center piece like the 262. We are offering a referral fee for any qualified leads that result in a sale.

Please send me an e-mail through warbirdrecovey.com on the contact page if you have some ideas. THANKS!

I just saw one of them in Ione, CA on Monday!
It hasn't flown in a while.
