Taken on 09June07 at Niagara Falls at Ed Russell's place. Alan Walker was flying the Spitfire and John Romain was in the 109. Nice way to kick off the airshow season here in southern Ontario/ western New York area.

Great pics! I really like how it highlights the contrasting lines of the two former opponents.

Ed and his crew keeps his four warbirds in very nice condition. That is the Spitfire that I got to fly last year to the Thunder Show. It is all curves and grace and that beautiful wing, whereas the 109 is a mean looking little thing, angular and dominated by the engien compartment. In the air the Hurricane looses some of its bulk and is nice loking in its own right. What priveledge to fly in that historic trio.

Just one word for the Spitfire...BEEYOOTEEFULL!!! Well, maybe throw in Glamour, Elegance, Grace...

Bill, did you take that Spitfire out and put her through her paces after the 109 and Hurricanes got done with their displays? If so, I have video of you pre-flighting, starting and taking her out for a gallup around the patch there at Thunder last year. I will have to dig around and find that video now that I think it may have been you :D
