"Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" comes out today. Available at finer electronic emporiums or online at Amazon.com

You're not actually missing anything -- the aspect ratio of films in that era was 1.33 to 1 -- in fact, that's why they chose it as the standard ratio for the first TVs. In this instance "full screen" preserves the original viewing experience.
