Over the past several months, it has been my pleasure to sit back and scrounge bucket loads of great historical photos from this site and it suddenly occurred to me that I have never seen this collection mentioned.

In fact, some of the photos posted in the period I mentioned are apparently from this collection, although nobody seems to be aware of that fact. Anyway, you 'stars and bars' folks certainly have a good thing going as far as goverment photographs are concerned. Those of us up north pay through the nose for the privilege of using our official photos.

I go to the site and the second page has P80 044 very shortly before being gussied-up to race at the 1946 National Air Races!
