Warbird Information Exchange

I was talking to a friend this weekend, and he told me about some group in South Carolina that had recovered a B-29 froma lake. Something about it was lost in some kind of testing program. He also said that it was in pretty good condition as it was in fresh water.

Anyone ever heard of this? Details?

Your friend is confusing the Lake Murray B-25 (recovered) with the Lake Mead B-29 (NPS underwater tourist attraction extrodinaire)

There was a B-29 lost in SC or southern GA and was on some type of test mission. There was a lawsuit from a widow concerning this. I can find some details this afternoon. I have the newspaper clipping. May not be the same aircraft, I think this one was completely destroyed.
