Greetings to one and all
I am seeking info on the B-24 Dixie Darling. My Great uncle was the Radio/Gunner serving on her in the African Campaine in the 1943-44. I have heard that their might be a sight of where I might be able to obtain a Photo and War service .

Thankyou
Glen Wild
P.S. Just discoverd this sight a few days ago Awsome !

Are you sure that it was Dixie Darling? www.b24bestweb.com has a bunch of B-24 pics, and there are three with "Dixie" in them. No Dixie Darling, however. Take a look here at the Dixies.

Yes It was a B-24 I have seen his A-2 and again it said Dixie Darling B-24 His unit was used as Sub Patrol in the Medatrain Sea
I remember a story that his unit Sank a Whale one time and his plane did sink at least one sub . I do know for a Fact that the Bomber was not a PBJ-24 and not Navy Had a model once of it when I was 10 more like a B or C model .

Do you know what unit Dixie Darling flew with at all? That'd help as someone on here might be able to direct you to that unit's website or an association etc. Any squadron codes on B-24 on the A2 you mention?

Cheers

Andy
