I completed my updates to the Georgia Locator. You can find it here…
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.php?Region=GA

I would appreciate it if the Georgia locals and visitors could see if there is anything that should be added or if there are any blanks that could be filled in.

Mike

As usual here is the list of “Need Help” items (it is a long list)…

# 1 - American Legion Post 201, 201 Wills Rd., Alpharetta, GA. No UH-1 is visible on GE (although an M-48A5 tank is), but their website shows one in place.
Based on hand-held pic, approx. location is: 34.04.28N 84.18.37W

http://www.legion201.org/

# 4 - The Richmond County Museum (actually the Augusta Museum of History) is at 560 Reynolds St., Augusta, GA. 33.28.29N 81.57.38W. No acft visible outside.

# 11 - The Fort Stewart Museum is on Frank Cochran Dr( Or so I believe - 4 website give 4 different addresses), Ft Stewart, at 31.51.43N 81.36.45W. There is at least a UH-1 there, not visible on GE.

This may be last post...was fun looking, tho...

Based on the pics on their website and the homes in the background I would guess it is at... 34 04 28.49 N 84 18 38.29 W. The GE image is obviously old. I'll put it in the entry as eye-sight.

#21. The Sabre is right next to the road, on the west side...easily visible from the street and accessible. It's F-86L 52-10057 and wearing a Moody AFB tailcode (MY).

N 31 51 36.45
W 83 16 58.33

#22. The T-33 and F-4 are actually parked at Valdosta Regional Airport, not on Moody AFB. You can see them sitting on the ramp in Google Earth, along with a twin Beech. Last time I looked there was a UH-1 parked there, too.

N 30 47 18.24

The H-34 was sold, It was not at a McDonalds it's a Liqueur Store. The Owner of the store sold the H-34 and purchased an OH-6 and OH-58 along with a War/Corsair homebuilt, Cub and other homebuilt aircraft all hanging from the rafters.

The Owner is a neighbor of mine,He has the T-33 in McDoughna GA at another of his businesses establishments. He has an OV-1 in the works for another establishment

#8: There may be aircraft displayed at the Cartersville Airport. Can you confirm? If so what types are they and where are they located?

Nope, the group of warbird enthusiasts who were based at Cartersville essentially dissolved with the death of one of the primary members and the relocation of another of the primary members.

Once upon a time, there was a P2V, C-119, B-25, B-26, T-37, T-28, J-3, and maybe a few more types in a museum located on the field.

Today, the warbirds on the field include a Stearman or two, a couple of Chipmunks, a Fockwulf 149, a Bulldog trainer, and a T-6 and Beech 18 which may or may not have been sold. None of these aircraft are on display, but you see them out and about from time to time.

Do you have the Calhoun museum (Mercer field, a grass strip adjacent to I-75) in your database? This collection has been dwindling, but the field still hosts a Matador missile, a T-33, a swept wing F-84, a C-131, and a couple of helicopters. Once upon a time, the field hosted two C-47's, but they have been purchased and flown out.

I see them. Who do they belong to? Are they both static? I assume the F-4 is, but it would be a little more realistic to assume the T-33 is a flyer.
