Rob, and anyone else interested... The Shermans are both M4A2s, the first photo is of a late M4A2 76mm (diesel), used by the Canadians post-war. The US used the M4A3 (gasoline) version of the same tank during the war, and the 76mm armor (er-armour) piercing round was quite effective. The other Sherman is an earlier varient of the M4A2 (diesel) that would have been used during wartime by the Canadians, equiped with the standard 75mm gun. The first shot looks like the one on display at Downsview, while the second is at Borden. For anyone interested in armor (er-armour), Borden has an excellent collection of allied and axis vehicles that I was able to view several years ago (sorry Eric, I know you were bored to tears....), and is well worth a visit. Oh yeah, their aircraft collection is pretty neat too!
