On my lunch hour one Friday a few weeks back, I took a ride over to Republic Airport, Farmingdale NY. They happened to have the hangar open at AAM and I got a look at the ex NWM PBY that they now own. AAM got a one time ferry permit, and after going over it they flew it to FRG.
They expect to complete restoration and resume flying it hopefully in September.
I didn't have a camera but Newsday ran a feature about one of the volunteers who happens to be a former PBY crewmen. Here's a link to the article on line. They have a couple of video clips as well that shows the interior and the landing at FRG.
