Warbird Information Exchange

I used to just love it when a C-124 was in the pattern overhead; when i was a kid. The noise just drowned out anything else. We couldn't here my mom's soap operas on the tv and she just went on like it was normal because it was normal.

Looks like they are making steady progress. The interior looks great.

I've always enjoyed going through the one at the NMUSAF. Very cool aircraft.

Thanks for the links Sasnak! The old SAC Museum really had a great collection of aircraft and it's good to see the 124 back on it's gear. I'd originally been concerned when the museum moved from Omaha, but thanks to lots of hard work the stuff they didn't keep went to good homes.

My Ultimate Wartbird!
My dream was to arrive at an air show in a C-124, open the doors and pull an F4F Wildcat out of the front to use in the show, my personal car would follow, and lastly, a tug on the elevator!
That would've really blown people away!
And I could sleep in the upper deck while at the show and save hotel costs!
I guess if I had a C-124 and all my wishes, I wouldn't have to worry about saving Hotel costs!!!

Thanks for the update. I love the C-124 Globemaster II - always has been one of my favorite airplanes. Glad to see they are progressing with the restoration. I hope they paint it in the beautiful late 50s/early 60s MATS markings with the white top and the orange day-glo markings.
