Well Boys and Girls, Any one up for changing the date of
The Great New England Wix Gathering and Virgin Sacrifice (

) to
a tentative 12 May? It seems the whole Snowball Militia contingent has run into Scheduling Issues(I just can't seem to get any single days off at a time anymore) and it appears that Our Host, Larry wont be available, either.
Questions, Thoughts, Obscene Comments?!!

Unfortunately, I'm involved with an AOPA/Airport/Aviation Tech School open house on May 12th at Stratford, CT (Sikorsky Memorial Airport). We're trying to line up a couple of warbirds, but I'm not sure who at this time. April's still good for me, but then again, I can go to NEAM any time.

I wasn't going to be able to make the April 14 date because my nephew is getting married that day so May 12 sounds good to me, who are the Sox playing that day?

Stupid me, I was trying to think of what was on April 14th when Shannon mentioned she had volunteered to work.
May 12th I was thinking of making the trip to the Wings over Wayne Airshow in NC!

Okay Boys and Girls(and I use those terms LOOSELY) Let's go for a Roll Call here. I just got word from the Colonel that Larry W. IS available for the 12th of May and will meet everyone at 1000hrs at NEAM. Any takers or do we forget the whole thing and go for Gennie?
This is a bump from the Gatherings Forum.

I'd like to, but I'm involved with an Open House at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, CT. We'll have a Blackhawk, T-6 Rides, antiques and APM's P-40 (maybe a couple of others to!). If anybody gets done early, stop in!
have fun!

Hi Jerry,
Sounds like a good time in Stratford! This is the first I've heard about it, but if it's half as good as the Corsair Gathering in 2004(?), well, just have fun!
So we have
The Brewmaster
Warhawk
Warbird Kid

Hey Don,
Count me in. Looks like the workload between now and then for me will be manageable enough so I won't have to work too many more Saturdays and weekends. I'd love to meet some of the folks from the WIX Board out here in CT.

Well, I don't think it'll be that good!
It's just a one day Open House primarily aimed at getting the word out to people about the State's Aviation Tech School on the field.
Should be fun though!

Jerry, how were you(or were you even) involved with the Corsair gathering?
Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:14 pm
It was my idea and I was the coordinator for the event.
"Corsairs Over Connecticut" was part of a multi-venue Veterans Salute that slowly became more focused on the Corsair. There were many people who were involved and contributed to the success of the show, but I was certainly the keystone.
In addition, getting the Corsair named the "Official Aircraft of the State of Connecticut" was my idea also, but I did not write the bill nor propose it to the state senate, State Sen. George "Doc" Gunther did that, and he deserves the credit for making it happen.
Blue skies,
Jerry
BTW, it was the hardest and most difficult thing I've ever done!

The "Corsairs" show was definitely worth the 6hr drive(one way, not including Pit stops!) We had a great time, the whole Veterans theme was not lost on most people I spoke with. The vintage Chance Vought coveralls on the ground crew were excellent! You guys did a fine job!
