Warbird Information Exchange

Just wondering.

Seems with all the aerial warfare involved with it, the iron curtain, etc., it would still have some aviation treasures hidden about. I'm not expecting complete airframes, but it would be neat to uncover some artifacts from the low level raid.

Read something a few years back about farms etc in the area having sheds & whatnot made from aircraft aluminum...

I used to be an avid reader of the British WWII history mag"After the Battle".in one issue that I had(and available at after the battle's website)they went to Ploesti and by chance arrived just before most of the original structures were demolished.They show wartime photos and side by side photos of the present day so you can see what has and has'nt survived the ensuing years.It has lots of good pics and a great story.And oh yeah,There are still many UXB's laying around.If you wanna see Ploesti,this is it.
