Weather wasn't helping Saturday and Sunday on my way back from Chicago, so I stopped to check just a few airfields:

Nick Wilson Field
Pocahontas, AR
US 67 South

Image
A-7 Corsair II

BuNo 153150
VA-22 USS Nimitz

36.24185 N
90.95729 W

Atlanta Municipal Airport,
Atlanta, TX:

Image

Two Beech C-45s
One is or was, possibly N6123

A third C-45, inside a locked hangar. Reportedly three C-45s are for sale, I have the contact data if anyone is interested.

They belonged to a guy who flew them in, and was working on restoring them; the guy passed away and his widow was basically swindled by a jerk who told her that the yellow tagged and NOS cylinders and engines that she had, were junk and paid her junk prices on them.

Cessna U3A Blue Canoe
s/n 57-5852A

33.10497 N
94.19596 W

Cypress River Airport
Jefferson, TX

No Photo:
Lockheed T-33 Wings, wing tip tanks. T-33 inside hangar.

Owned by a retired airline pilot, the T-33 is going to be restored to flying condition; reportedly the owner also is completing a Great Lakes.

Thanks Tulio! I have added two entries to the Locator (A-7 & T-33). I just uploaded the file. Thanks for the photos, but I really cant use them at this time. I am very busy just collecting the info, but I bet Scott would like to use them for the registry.

Scott: Are you reading this?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I'll see about snagging them for the registry when I get home.

That is very cool! That is my old Squadron, before it became VFA-22. I'll have to keep that location in the back of my head if I ever travel in that area.

YCBAR!

I have several shots of the A-7, as well as of the C-45s and the Cessna U3; if anyone wants a high res shot, let me know.

Saludos,

Tulio
