Hi All,

I'm writing a book on the Stinson L-5 Sentinel (Army L-5, Navy OY) and hope to be ready to publish late this year. I've been working on this project for several years and have collected a tremendous amount of information and photos, but there's always room for more. If anyone out there has original WWII or Korean War photos to share, knows any pilots or mechanics still living who flew or worked on these planes in the military, or knows the families of deceased L-5 pilots and mechanics, please get in touch.

I also run the L-5 owners club (SOPA), so am already plugged into the "scene". There isn't too much in the L-5 world I'm not aware of since well over half the known L-5's owners in the world belong to the club and I've devoted the last 10 years to researching these planes. That said, I still get surprised with new stuff all the time.

The SOPA has 140+ members in 7 countries representing about 115 aircraft. Our in-depth quarterly newsletter runs the gamut from maintenance tips and classified ads to history to stories from current owners as well as wartime pilots. It's great reading even if you don't own or fly an L-5. If you're unfamiliar with the L-5, it's a true "warbird", not an off-the-shelf" light plane like a Cub, Champ, or T-Crate adapted to military use. See our website (listed below) for more info.

I also provide professional research to anyone who wishes to know the history of a particular aircraft since I have 95% of the military record cards in my posession.

Thanks in advance to all who respond,

Jim Gray
