A step backwards in rank

Okay, Scott, this question has probably been asked and answered many times, but I just posted my 25th message and went from Corporal (two hooks) to Lance Corporal (one hook). Where I come from, that's a step backwards! Que pasa!?

I upset Scott once. Ever since then I have been up to my eyeballs in grease and oil in the motor pool.

What he doesn't know and I don't tell him is that I actually like it here.

Actually I want to redo thge generic ranking system. Suggestions for rank names? Keep it clean.

Can I be a Potato again?

You can have

Potato
Corn
Tomato
Burrito
Enchirito
Bagel Dog
Refried Beans

Those would be a good ranking system. I'm usually right about these things.

When I was instructing, we gave our students Navy call signs and Navy Rank. It kept them coming back as nobody wants to be a Jr grade...

Anything, so long as there is a rank of "Leftenant" in the heirarchy somewhere.

Sorry bout that, was cleaning out some unused ranks and forgot that was yours. BTW, considering your listed occupation, you might find www.milscifi.com interesting. It's a side project of mine, it's small and we need warm bodies to jumpstart the conversations.

Not to throw ice water on this....
The "rankings" are, IMHO, a minor "ego trip". Yes, they're somewhat interesting but as they're a reflection of how many posts one has, why have a number count AND a "ranking"? This isn't a criticism of the system, just my take on it.
After all, I AM a Group Captain so my opinion SHOULD count for something. :shock:

ps. I don't understand the Brit ranking system anyway. :roll:
