But if you want to pay and come on in we would appreciate it. Five whole American dollars, but if you wish to contribute more we will gladly take it with a big Thank You!!

Awesome! We'll be passing through Lexington KY on our way to Florida on the 6th..looking forward to seeing TR. She was the first B-17 I ever saw in real life..35 years ago next month. This'll be the first time I've seen her since then.

And as an added bonus-
TEXAS RAIDERS will have a freshly rebuilt Engine #4.
Salutes to the Maintenance Team, because if you have not heard, it gets a tad warm around these parts by mid-June.

I am on Day Shift at work so I can only post pictures and kudos until Saturday.

Well she was smoking and hard to start at Hondo. How many hours on her before she crapped out?

June 23, 2012- Engine swap on #4 proceeding nicely.

The old engine had but 780 hours on it. :(
This is the second engine of the old set that had a bolt decide to break its safety wire and back out of the case and make an interference fit with the impellor.

hmmmm

The new engine should be on in time for our July 7th revenue rides date. But it is making for some long tiresome days for the Maintenance crew.

The airshow at Rifle, Colorado and TEXAS RAIDERS got rained out this Saturday 14 of July.

While we are disappointed at not getting to fly, in the grand scheme of things Thank the Lord that Colorado has gotten some much needed rain.

Hopefully the Pueblo stop will get its flying in.

Stay tuned.

So often we think in terms of what we do just for the veterans.
Or for the kids just coming on who have no idea what the vets did.
Every once in awhile it is a nice thing to hear from a new Col. who is just getting their first tour with a warbird in. How to make an ex Wing Leader get the sniffles...

Spanner,

I just realized that the "Texas Raiders" not only carries the marking of the 533rd Squadron (381st BG) but also that of the B-17 "Princess Pat" ... it so happens that my cousin's first of his 35 combat missions was on Princess Pat.

I'm looking forward to the Thursday afternoon with the Texas Raiders group and the 381st Reunion group at Wright Brothers Airport.

Rantoul is COOL!
Give a hoot- Go to Chanute
TEXAS RAIDERS made it to Chanute Air Museum yesterday afternoon.

Catch it if you are in the hood, because it is all good!

Tours and rides available for a limited time only.

Then it should be onwards to Indianapolis through Wed.
(I am joining the tour this summer at Dayton, OH for the Wright Patterson 381st Bomb Group (Heavy) Re-union.
Stop by, go fly and say Hi!)
