Lovely shot of the Junkers! The best "warbird" shot I've seen in years...really conveys the beauty and adventure (off to parts unknown via cloudy and slightly dangerous looking skies) of flight.

Duggie always makes me smile...they got the face just right.
Reminds me a bit of my basset hhound, named Douglas (after the plane maker).

I gotta say, I was VERY impressed by the routine that the JU-52 did. Nice and tight in the 'show box' with steep turns and REALLY SLOW.

Outstanding pic. Could be a painting.

I, too, stopped to watch the Ju's flight display each day she went up. Her pilot displayed the flight dynamic to a degree I'd not appreciated before.

When did the Dash 8 come in? Just more proof that Oshkosh is so big you don't see it all.

It will be a few weeks before I can get through all my pics, especially the better ones which are on film. But I have the first 57 posted to this gallery and will be adding many more.

August.

I'm traveling and will check the date stamp when I get home, but I think it was Friday. I had never seen an E-9 before.

I got to watch the Ju-52 routine with my dad,the only person I know with JU-52 time. Dad was friends with Martin Caidin and flew "Tante Ju" a few times. He said the controls were heavy and uncoordinated in flight. To pull off the routine he said both pilots were shoving and pushing on that rudder!

Yeah - the Junkers pilots really put on a nice tight show. Here's a couple more:

I'm guessing the finish on Race #74's wing is a bit smoother than it was when she rolled out of the factory. I missed a pretty good shot (IMHO) mid-week - no one around the plane at all except Bob Odegaard having a nap under the wing. Only Ground 2 Air shot I kept was this one:

Not the best, but he stayed pretty high during his Acro routine.

Here's some Jets:

Did anybody (Al?) get either one of the FA-18's doing the high speed banana passes with the condensation diamond over the wing on Friday? When the first guy did it I flat out missed it because I was too slow. No problem, though - the second guy was going to do the same routine. I had him perfectly centered the whole way across EXCEPT MY #@**!!! CAMERA WASN'T TURNED ON! Second guy flew again on Saturday but the humidity must have been lower:

Last ones for now - just some general interest airshow stuff:

I take this one of John Mohr every year but I never knew he waves at the crowd during this low level slip:

And Kyle Franklin in his "wife beater" T-shirt after he 'stole' his plane:
