I did shake Steve Hinton's hand at Duxford ... long admirer of his, and went up and introduced myself. Even though he just sat down to eat, he was not bothered at all, and seemed genuinely interested in why I was over in the UK ... I didn't take up much of his time at all, but I *did* take the opportunity to meet him so I could tell the grandkids ...
Cool aircraft I've flown -
Twice in Mark Henley's
AeroShell T-6G from the front seat. I did most of the flying, radio work, landings and taxi work - a tricky plane, but with Mark's direction, I actually did pretty darn good as only a light plane CFI. He showed me some awesome acro work. One time we 'buzzed' a local glider field and turned the smoke on ... neat, but smelly and a little smoky in the cockpit.
Twice in USAF AT-38Cs in the pit. Most awesome experiences of my life, something that most never get the chance to do. A little bit of stick time on both flights, but after some Gs during BFM, and not being used to it like most GA pilots, I was simply trying to enjoy the rest of the flight though I was a little green (didn't puke, though!

). Secret -> take the cold water Life Support offers you - stick it in your G-suit pocket ... and don't look
down into the cockpit at the G-meter - or anything else - when you're under load ... keep your head UP out looking out.
T-34s a couple of times.
Flown in -
B-17s a couple of times.
RCAF Dakota/C-47/whatever in the mid-80s. Guy almost killed us on landing, but we walked away, good 'nuff.
AF transports when they were moving us enlisted types around - including overseas a couple of times in C-141s. LOUD airplane inside, I said
LOUD! Earplugs a must.
That's all I can think of offhand ...
