From the aerovintage B-25 pages: "And then there is TB-25J 44-29035 on display as a PB-1J at the U.S. Naval Aviation Museum at Pensecola, Florida. This airplane came to the Navy in the early 1990s as a sideways Tallichet trade, last carrying the civil registration of N61821. It was slightly damage last year by a hurricane. Ron notes it is not parked in the display area at this time."

One could surmise this may the Mitchell in question. Easy, Gary!

Glad to see the story will be airing again but I do not think I have the heart to watch it.

I remember watching it when it first aired and I'm still sad about the ending. :?

The CAF has the only true PBJ. The one worked on for the NMNA was a basket case. It was mainly a B-25J with alot of parts to a PBJ, and B-25D. Air heritage restored to static then shipped it to Pensacola. She's due to come in with the new building. I actually towed the cockpit and nose from Cleveland to Pittsburgh when we got it in for restoration.

It was on PBS last night. I wasn’t going to watch it but did. I got all sick to my stomach and seething all over again. I remember when it first aired, many of my friends were VERY ticked at me the next day because I didn’t warn them of how it was going to turn out.

Might this be the B25 - PBJ in question? Took this in March during our visit there. Placard reads: PJB Mitchell 1943

I've always wondered when someone would return to the site and retrieve whatever is still available.

I still find it hard to watch the PBS film on Kee Bird......even after all these years!
