Jim,

Thanks so much for your kind words. We all appreciate the support the positive feedback from everyone on here on WIX.

I have been in love with your K model since Mr. Lynch showed it to me many years ago. What a special bird that you all have and Special K is the perfect name. Talk about a time capsule that is as authentic as any warbird can be. I am very happy that she ended up in the hands of a group of go getters that have the passion and appreication to give her the care she needs. Well done and i look forward to reading your great posts.

Trade rides some day? The A-26 has to be the sexiest aircraft around...next to our slightly pregnant Harpoon that is...

Taigh... I would be delighted to trade rides with you. Love the Harpoon too. If we hadn't gotten K, then that might have been my next choice! We are planning a west coast tour for year after next. Might just drop by your neighborhood! :-) Regards, Jim R

Hi Taigh,
I assume you got to talk to dad for a time about his Super Ventura and H-500 experiences at the RRHT up at Reno. I was so surprised to hear the blue Harpoon was your ship. Finally checked here and saw the pics. Looks great.

Absolutely gorgeous! Nice job Taigh. You and your crew outdid yourselves. I've loved watching the poon go from a worn out firebomber into a beautiful restored warbird.

Hey Gang! The old girl looks great! My meticulous eye seems to have cought either the famous Harpoon tilt, or that was apretty good crosswind on the take-off!
Cheers!

Cool shot Roger. Thanks for posting it.

Not sure about the tilt Gary. On the ground the struts are pretty level. I do notice, that for some strange reason, I tend to land left wheel first in the in most of the planes I fly. It's probably because of my weight on the left side of the cockpit! Maybe I practice the same phenomenon on takeoff too?

It could also have been that I was already turning left toward home. Since our poor museum was paying for the fuel on this trip I had a deep desire to fly straight home.

Taigh, I can understand setting the left wheel down first...I believe it is a self preservation mode we all get into subcontiously...you know being the pilot, you are the first on the ground, so you will be the first to get to the bathroom deal....I know, after raising 5 daughters, and in a one bathroom house, boy do I know.

Anyway, I really feel all of ya deserve a big ole Atta Boy from all on the WIX site, and Warbird land...well done, and can't wait to see what y'all have up you sleeves next.
The skies sure are a bit more bluer now!

Taigh,

Are you running your modern radios with the AN-104? I'd like to do it in the L-5G, but do you know if painting the antenna reduces its effectiveness? The 'Poon looks great!
