One of HMX-1's CH-53E's on its way back to CVG after the speech was over. I actually drove by the improvised "landing area" and saw the whole fleet, including the two VH-60N's, but I wasn't able to get any good pictures of them. C'est la vie.

That would have probably been Mr. Shaw in his P-51 that I saw depart earlier. :)

Explains what he was doing - currency. :)

I saw these 3 guys yesterday at the Aluminum Overcast tour stop. Air to air and from the ground. I could get used to this kind of fun.

Very cool. I don't know my Tejas geography very well, so I didn't connect the dots.

Cruised around KAZO a bit today since the Lest We Forget re-enactment was happening at the Air Zoo. There was a Huey over in the grass that was giving rides. There was also a black Yak-52 with golden checkers on the cowl, an O-2 and a yellow T-6 coded 'TA-472' scattered about the airport.

Also interesting to note was the Air Zoo's old Moraine Saulnier MS 733 Alcyon project was sitting outside the restoration. I was under the impression that the project was sold several years ago in an auction, but apparently it's still at the museum.

Saw Tony Buechler's P-51 land in Waukesha (WI) this afternoon, and a BIG thank you to David (Sabremech) for the chance to sit in a Skyraider this morning!

On Monday, Sep 7th, I was in Cozumel, Mexico, on the cruise ship MS Carnival Glory. I got to see a four-ship echelon formation of Fuerza Aerea Mexicana PC-9s fly in from the mainland, do an over-field break, and then land in sequence. A few minutes later, a PC-9 flew directly over the ship heading toward the mainland. A few minutes after that, a three-ship echelon came in from the mainland, broke, and landed.

Neato! :D

Cheers,
Dean the easily impressed

4 F-16's of the 178th FW in a brief holding pattern over Northern Kentucky, presumably before they made an overflight of the Bengals game. My Dad also sent me a cell phone video of a solo F-16 overflying the Bearcats game last night.
