I believe I heard the distinct sound of "Miss Mitchell" earlier today, possibly on its way out to the event.

We got a late start, had to replace a fuel pump. Currently waiting at Jasper County Airport Indiana waiting for weather to improve in Urbana. Looks like we will depart here around 1800.
Nate, Miss Mitchell

Nate, did you all get in earlier than expected? I heard the lovely sound of what could only have been a Mitchell around 1745. Above the clouds, of course.

Devil Dog just landed. Two aircraft diverted to Terre Haute for an overnight ground hold. Panchito was en route last we heard.

It was good to see Champaign Gal in the air this AM. Several planes flew this AM despite the rain and deteriorating conditions.

The folks here in Urban are just fantastic. We're hoping for many arrivals and some nonstop flying tomorrow!

Just wondering what are the plans for the B-25's after the fly by. I'll be in Washington Tuesday for the shuttle and drive to Dayton by Wednesday and hope to catch both. Thought that I would stop in Urbana on my way home Wednesday afternoon.

Despite the crummy weather, there were several revenue flights today and so there were a few photo ops. I was kind of surprised at the crowd...not huge, but pretty decent considering the forecast. There were still folks coming in at 2 when BK and I bugged out and headed to the NMUSAF. While there, we ran into Tim Chopp of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation and chatted a bit. Good to see him again. Hopefully we'll see lots more flying tomorrow, since I have to head back home late in the afternoon :( :( :(

No movement on the Grumpy page since they landed last night. Does anyone know if they're still in Great Falls or if the website just hasn't been updated?

To the best of my observation, their were 13 Mitchells in Urbana when I left at 1545 local, as well as P-51 Petie 2nd. The announcers stated that the Zero was on her way, but it was supposed to be there around 1500. Hadn't made it when I left

I believe there is weather problems (snow, etc.) at Great Falls .. they most likely will sit it out overnight and fly to Urbana tomorrow.

The plan was to do some local stuff for Malstrom AFB so they may well be flying around in the area showing off or selling rides, anyone in G.F. that can provide further?

If you look at the Grumpy Page ... and scan down to the write-up ... this is part of what it reports.

"Grumpy has a hangar. Today (Sunday), the midwest continues to endure violent weather. Several other B-25 crews are “camped” in cities they never considered visiting except for fuel. The cold front behind the massive storm system has brought snow to Great Falls. The system and tornadoes should run their course later today. We plan a sunrise departure tomorrow with arrival at Grimes Field by the time of the pilot briefing. Today, the highlights will be a crew snowball fight, the Lewis & Clark Museum and a visit to the airport to prepare the aircraft."
