I think I just lost a few brain cells....

And I need a bigger piggy bank now that the "street value" of a T-6 is over $1 million

I thought TV was aimed at a 4th grade level, guess Cable drops their sights a bit!!!
But seriously, if one didn't know anything about aircraft, history, flying, racing and physics, would one find the show more appealing?

Gee, wish our T6 had 1200 hp. Then again, glad it doesn't.

On our P-64, we had 1425hp, and the canopy came apart at 315mph

That's why mine will be limited to 310. I'm going to put a mechanical stop on the speedometer.

it will go much faster, but when parts started coming off, Carl decieded that was fast enough.

What happened was because of the larger diameter engine, the air coming around the cowling created a low pressure zone that rejoined the fuselage around the rear seat. In the high speed tests, the low pressure was enough that it sucked the right side canopy glass out of the frame. Carl was wearing a helmet with the dark tinted visor down and all he knew was there was a loud bang, it got real windy, and he heard something pounding on the fuselage behind him. He landed back at Deervalley a bit shaken, but got a good laugh when he found out the pounding was the canopy glass weather stripping that was pealed from the frame when the glass was sucked out of the frame.
