I think the tub should be on as well.

mustangdriver,

Yup, the more I think about it, I'd like to see the ventral tub too. And aerovin, thanks for posting the explantation on the wings--that has to be the publication I read the information in years ago.

James, I agree about the Liberator at Pima. I'd like to see her in her real warpaint too. RAF or IAF roundels are an actual historical fact for that airplane.

True..so instead of NMF, might we compromise and settle for a really nice 'silver' paint job?

I too would like to see the ventral gun tub returned..

Compromise is good. It would be nice to see her in the same markings as when she went to Clark in '41.

However the museum decides to paint/restore the Swoose, I hope I live long enough to see it. I presume work on the Swoose wont start until the Memphis Belle is done (approx 8 yrs away) then the Swoose will probabaly be a 10 year restoration job. Yikes, I better get on the exersize bike!

I actually think the goal os to work on both at the same time. I hope so as well.

What about making a "diorama" showing the transformation from war weary to hack? That could be very interesting and tell a different story.

Does it still have the sharkfin tail?

I would love to see it restored back to it's early original condition.

now if we can get the AFM to recover the B-17C from Tells Peak, NV, a B-17E from Greenland (or 41-2446) and a B-17H it be one heck of a collection...
