The Lake Murray B-25C 41-12634 has the right lower window. It was still attached after crash landing on the lake.

from a pure bombing perspective.., the window is in a good spot. Just swing the bombsite to the right and toggle away.

I would just be leary of stepping on that while trying to fire the forward 50. cal! :shock:

There was a discussion on a previous WIX Thread that is now locked. Although this may be a little off topic, because of a photo I received yesterday, I am going to reopen it with additional information.

Loading PBJ-1D’s aboard the Escort Carrier USS Manila Bay (CVE 61) in San Diego, August 1944.

The question and topic of discussion was “Were there other aircraft aboard the Manila Bay? That appears to be the propeller of a JM-1 in the background.” I now have a definitive answer.

I received this photo yesterday from Fabio Peña, Manager, Aircraft Carrier &
Escort Carrier Archives at NavSource, a non-commercial website devoted
to U.S. Naval History and Photography:

USS MANILA BAY (CVE 61)
“No doubt, it was taken en route from San Diego to Pearl Harbor, between
August 24-31, 1944, as one can clearly identify the 14 PBJ-1D's of
Marine Bombing Squadron VMB 611. The photograph also answers the
question you have posted: were there any other aircraft aboard MANILA
BAY, besides the PBJ's? The answer is "Yes," conclusively, as the
picture shows there were, at least, three JM-1's. I am sure you will
enjoy seeing this photo.”


It's not Doolittle's B-25's on the deck of the USS Hornet, but it is still impressive.

An anonymous "strafer" assigned to the 405th Bomb Squadron "Green Dragons," 38th BG. A GREAT detail shot showing the "strafer" modifications, including the blast plate for the cheek gun packages. Note how the plexiglass is "blistered" in the cockpit and bombardier's compartments from exposure to the Southwest Pacific heat...

The ship in the background, B-25D-10 serial 41-30340, was assigned to the 13th Bomb Squadron, 3rd BG, and nicknamed "El Diablo IV." She was converted to a "strafer" at the 4th Air Depot at Garbutt Field near Townsville. Afterwards, the aircraft was transferred to the 499th Bomb Squadron, 345th BG. Assigned to pilot 1LT Octave J. Daniel, he renamed her "Lil Shifless", after his prior aircraft B-25D "Shif'less Skonk" (serial 41-30021) was written off.

The regular crew included:
Pilot 1LT Octave J. Daniel
Co-Pilot 2LT Russell N. Erum
Navigator 1LT James T. Bryan
Engineer SSGT Dean W. Butler
Radio-Gunner TSGT James E. Griffin
Turret Gunner SSGT Edward J. Cooley
Crew Chief TSGT Donald E. Thomas

This B-25 flew at least 60+ combat missions, and at least one fat cat mission to Australia. Prior to May 1944, painted with the "Bat Outta Hell" nose marking and operated from Nadzab Airfield.

After Daniel completed his tour of duty in July 1944, this B-25 was assigned to 1LT John B. Boyd and continued to fly combat missions.

Finally, on 2 December 1944, she was declared "war weary" and transferred to a service squadron. Her ultimate fate is unknown; she was likely scrapped.

Concur.....But this set me to wondering.....Who eggzackalee owns this website aka WARBIRD INFORMATION EXCHANGE and does said owner of said website aka WARBIRD INFORMATION EXCHANGE...feel the same way? I'd just kinda like to know what the owner of said website aka WARBIRD INFORMATION EXCHANGE thinks about that.
