This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

As you can tell by my Avatar, Starscream is his name, I am a Transformers fan (thats the cartoon and toys, not the eletrical variety). Have a nice collection of figures, ranging from the early 80's to stuff that has been released now.

Also make model kits in my spare time, started with 1/72 but have been mainly building 1/48 and 1/24 kits lately.

I am also a computer gamer, have a PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS and a nice PC to play games on.

I have a lot of the same interests as most of the cats here. Besides Warbirds, Rifles, Pistols, 1978/9 Blackbird Trans Am's, heeee, The other ones are...

Kelmscott Press Books
Fine Books from the same period
Illuminated Manuscripts
Octavo and Second Octavo Audubons
Turn of the century gift books, especially illustrated by Edmund Dulac
Shin Hanga prints

And, and, and......oh Jeebus help me, well, I'll put it this way. If you know what these words mean, you will also know that my head has almost exploded,

Imari
Kutani
Satsuma
Yabu Meizan
Kinkozan Zo
Kinkozan Sobei

Just Bijins, for the most part.....

Ohhhhhhhhh, well, anyway, that is kind of why my posts have slacked off around here...I cannot stop thinking about it....

Here is the newest Woman in my life. She's 110 years old, but she don't look a day over a hundred. :D

I have to jump on this bandwagon, this is my most recent gun purchase. It's a Taurus .357 Magnum. :)

Hmmm, interesting responses out here! Great topic so far!

Well let's see... I do a few other things than warbirds...

I really love graphic design and designing for the web, so I end up spending a lot of time doing that. My job as Associate Director of Marketing for a college keeps me busy in that department, but on the side, I have a small client base: http://www.ryankeough.com/portfolio_web.html

I also collect and sell comic books with my wife... I only got into this within the past 2 years since we got married... but she is by far and away the expert. Collectively we have about 6000 comics of the Silver and Bronze era and are always finding ourselves on eBay :-)

I love researching and exploring airports and airfields that have gone out of use, or have a significant historical past. I love using Paul Freemans "Abandoned and Little Known Airfields" site at http://www.airfields-freeman.com/ and am trying to build a collection of old sectional maps, AOPA guides, and state airfield publications to aid in this.

And I have a "passing" interest in tattoos :-) ... here are some of my ongoing projects...

Luckily my wife not only tolerates it, she shares the interest too... we are headed to her artist tomorrow to add more to her "project" phoenix on her lower back.

That's about it for me here... for now!

When I pull myself away from the hanger, I like to camp, hike, fish, goto the beach, surf, and spend time with my girlfriend. I also love to go on road trips to find Warbird projects and parts. I'm restoring a 42 Ford GPW, so that will also be fun to play with.

As far as the guns goes, the only guns I wish to have is the thirty cal for the back seat in my SNJ-5. And I'm thinking about doing a Martin 250 Turret project, so I will need the guns for that.

I really like all the pictures everyone has posted. It's great to see that other people have great hobbies too.

Live Life Too The Fullest !!!!!!! :P

Pardon the old (1982)G.I. Daze photo!

Sorry, no model photos, I don't have any stock photos and the models are all packed away, except for the current projects! Although, I dare say my storage area looks alot like Peter-Four-Ohs!

As for my armory, well, let's say I've been around the Colonel too long and I prefer not to advertise in case Big Bro really is watching! Don't want him to come to my door with an itemized list for confiscation!? :?

JBell,

Nice halftrack. Is that an M2A1? White or Autocar? I also have a passion for military vehicles. In fact last weekend I spent out at our big West Coast MV meet at Tower Park. Here are some pics of us playing around with the Autocar M2 and M151A2 this weekend.

Did someone say Saturn V?????

7.5 Million ponds of thrust... <DROOL>

For a sense of scale, the diameter of the first stage is 33 feet and the Saturn V is 363 feet tall.

There are two things I am really sad I will never see in person, the launch of a Saturn V and an atomic bomb (in peacetime of course).
