Not necessarily today, but being in Huntsville, AL we are the home of the US Army's Aviation Command as part of AMCOM. I routinely see AH-64s, UH-60s, the ever present UH-1s, CH-47s, and there is a MCH-47 on display at the Civic Center downtown for some conference.

When I get the chance to go out onto Redstone Arsenal there are several helicopters parked as guards in front of a building or two out ther, including a AH-1, and a ACH-47 Go-Go Bird.

Just heard, then saw a white Stearman fly over at a low rumble. It sounded sweet. Not sure if it is the Jelly Belly Stearman or not. Looked like it was heading to the Nut Tree (Vacaville Airport). Haven't seen too many all white Stearman's in these parts for years.

Mike Walsh has owned one at Chino for years. It has stars and bars on it and says NAVY on the fuselage.

Today I saw flying one of the dozen or so Stearmans based out of Felts Field in Spokane.
This one was in Yellow Navy markings...as are several others.
Including one that was actually a USAAF aircraft.

Cool,

I had this same view of the Space Shuttle on the back of the 747 when I used to fly gliders out of a grass strip (San Geronimo off of FM 471) in NW San Antonio back in the early 80's.

The T-38 chase plane was not very happy with me either! It was accidental that we all ended up in the same piece of sky at the same time.., but I won't forget it!

The Viscount is supposedly used by the Brownsville Airport Authority to perform practice for airliner evacuations. I asked about buying it from them back when I was retrieving the PBY, but they said, "Oh, we can't sell that to you. We're going to paint it up and make it look nice so that we can keep doing these excersises in it." Well, as forecasted, they haven't done anything but move it out of their way (it used to at least be on the concrete). It just sits there, with the doors and windows open...slowly rotting away. My guess is that they'll have the same scrappers that came in to destroy the two C-47s that were being scrapped during the PBY episode to come in and do the same with this one.

Do you know anything about a four-engined aircraft's wing and center section at Victoria?

Ryan, I reported that several months back.., let me find the thread and post it.

The nose section is in a museum in OK.

The other aircraft is a Martin 404.
