This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

He's a nice fellow, too. PJ and I had a good long informative chat with him, and just ate it up with a spoon. He flies a nice routine that shows off the Wildcat very well.
Hey Matt, when did you get a Wildcat?!!!
Per chance did you mean Greg Shelton IndyJen?

A few weeks ago I caught a shot (not the best mind you) with three different types of aircraft visible - all wearing red, white, and blue!
That truck, BTW, is what I used to drive at Stinson.

Hey Matt, when did you get a Wildcat?!!! Very Happy

Oh gosh, you're right. It wasn't Matt Gunsch at all--I just went to the show website, and it was Mike Gillian. Two "M.G.: names, confusing themselves in my head.
Ah drat it, how embarrassing!
So, to recap: Matt Gunsch--probably a very nice guy, but not the guy. Mike Gillian--definitely a nice guy, and he's the one with this extremely shiny FM-2.

I saw the world's only flyable 1932 Pitcairn PA-18 doing it's thing both Saturday and Sunday...with another WIX member at the controls...in fact...I was the "official" propper for it! Also saw a Fairchild 24G, Waco YKC-S (mine) and a Waco RNF (my wife's)

Saturday, I saw LSFM's Thunderbird fly overhead. Later I saw other LS aircraft on the ground from the Thunderbird.
Early Sunday afternoon I was in the garage fighting with my mower and heard/felt round engines. I ran out looke straight up and there were two Yak 52's low and slow like they were leaving my local airport. I got a quick glimpse, then got blinded by the sun, blinked a bit and watched them fly away to the west. One was an indistinct greenish/grayish/bluish color with plaine red stars. The other was light gray with D-DAY STRIPES!I don't remember seeing any insignia under the wings on this one. A neighbor was looking at me strangely at this point. I must have exclaimed "Yaks" when I recognized them.

Since I live underneath an approach area for a major airport, I can't really participate in this thread most days because I would have to post that I had seen about two dozen 737 during the course of a day. Modern Jet Airliners interest me about as much as the average city bus. Zero.
But today I did see a Ford Tri-motor fly over; it flew right over the front yard going from west to east about 1,000 feet agl; the old bird was great to hear and see. One round motor is great--two are even better. Three sound pretty darn good too.
