#7: Any HU-16s at Opa Locka Airport?

Several! One that looked complete in civilian paint (137927), one that was complete, in kwaj colors, and one that was missing alot of parts.
Along with a lot of other heavy iron! 6 DC-3s, 2 DC-7s a DC-4, a C-123, a martin, a convair, anything alse that could haul freight out to the islands.

Interesting. Out of all of these airframes you mention here, are there any static aircraft that stand out? I assume the HU-16 parts airframe is. Any of the others? If so where are they on the airport?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike - here are a few for you!

There are two C-123's at Titusville . One at the museum - the other in the GA area.

Hastings - at Earle Airpark there is a Bell 47 and Piasecki HUP-2 Retriever

Sanford - There is a Ventura there under restoration and on the field a derelict UH-1H and a Sikorski UH-19 which looks like a failed conversion to Mil-24 drone configuration.

Opa Locka is an amazing place, we drove by on the day we were flying home back in January. Everywhere you turned on the airport there was heavy iron in various states of disrepair, some looking very airworthy, some not. Russian cargo airplanes seemed popular also. There were a couple of DC-3s on every area of the airport.

You are the best Mike!

As I was trying to post those pictures, Shannon came in and dropped off my buddy. She was changing the water in his tank, so he got to hang out here with me for a few minutes. His name is Melville!

Thanks to all that have been chipping in. I have started a new thread with a revised "Need Help" list. You can find it at...
