"Praying for a miracle." Still hoping Mr. Weeks will bring his J2F Duck. He could load it down with books for the kids and boxes of rum for the parents! Great marketing and he can write off his expenses.

Although we're still 4 days away from the start - I just glanced at the warbird webcam and see Doug Mathews new F-86 Sabre restoration is on sight now...

Vintage Wings posted the following update for C-53 Beach City Baby on their Facebook page. Sad they are not going to make it, but hopefully they will be in a better position to attend next year. Too soon to start the Unofficial Oshkosh 2023 thread?
Quote:
OSHKOSH UPDATE.
Well folks, it’s the first time I’ve had to post unpleasant news on the Facebook page, but here it is and I’ll explain why.
After much discussion with our board of directors, we’ve elected not to take the C-53 to Oshkosh this year.
1. The airplane is still proving itself to us and our organization. Although she’s running fine and very well, taking her that far away from home this early on would be a hit we can’t afford to take. If we were to have a major mechanical problem that far away from home, it could prove to be detrimental to our airplane and organization.
2. Crew. Getting our entire crew to have 7+ plus days off together has been difficult as well since most of our crew and members are all still working. Vacation time is limited and we couldn’t get the required amount of people necessary for the trip.
3. It’s on us. At $1,800 an hour, it would be one expensive and irresponsible joy flight. My goal currently is to build up our cash reserve and keep buying spare parts to ensure the longevity of our airplane and organization. This trip would be nothing but irresponsible and fatal to us if something were to happen to the airplane that far away from home.
As much as we would love to again take part in the greatest aviation event known to mankind, it would at this early stage be nothing but completely irresponsible of me to put our airplane and young organization in a financial situation that could occur if something were to happen. It’s with a very heavy heart to inform everyone we will not be making it to Oshkosh this year, but look forward to seeing you all in the future at a to be determined Oshkosh.
Thank you for understanding and may you all have the best week there! We sincerely wish we could be there & in due time we will.

According to flightaware there appears to be some T-28 activity around Sheboygan. (arrivals) Nothing much happening around DBQ. FIFI and Diamond Lil are on the ramp at Kenosha, along with their ride hopping SNJ. Not much activity though. Ramp looked pretty empty. 20.00 bucks gets you ramp access. Might take a ride down today.

Too bad about Beach City Baby, but totally understandable. I will look forward to seeing her this fall in Marion.

Looks like there's a Bearcat in Warbird Alley now as well, the nose is just barely visible on the webcam when it gets to that spot.

The blue looks too dark to be the "Blue Angel" Bearcat and no visible numbers on the cowling so possibly the Tom Woods Family Bearcat...

Anyone know what the Warbirds of America airshow schedule looks like? Monday is always the mass formation arrivals and it sounds like Thursday is jet day. Guessing Tuesday will be a bigger show with some variety and Wednesday will be trainers and L-birds, with Friday-Saturday focusing on the USAF 75th.

They redid the daily show schedules and are vague most days saying "various warbirds." During the webinar a month ago they said Doc/trainers would fly Tuesday. Doc is only listed on Friday now. The Cat Flight is still on for Wed and Fri. https://www.eaa.org/airventure/features ... e-air-show

Has there been an updated Warbirds in Review schedule posted as some of the planes have canceled and others likely too?

From one of the other forums, Polaris Dawn on the schedule for Fri-Sun. That is the name of the SpaceX crew mission that will be commanded by Jared Isaacman (one of the money men), who happens to own a Mig 29 that has been mentioned as being at Airventure. Probably a sly way of having it on the schedule but if it doesn't show up not as many people will be upset cause they don't make the connection.
