Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. It's hard to find anything on the B-29 (T-Square 54) especially interior shots...

Boeing Bee (lame name) is a movie star having been in 'The 1000 Plane Raid', 'TORA-TORA-TORA' and the really awful 'MEMPHIS BELLE'. It's dramatic and unplanned accident in T-T-T was stupid luck on everyone's part. The airplane had been painted O.D. over Gray before leaving the West Coast to appear in the film. As they were approaching Hawai'i the right gear wouldn't extend. The Director in a stroke of inspiration had a camera crew hurriedly set up a couple of cameras to shoot the approach and landing, and the gear up landing in the movie was the result.

The one that did the one-wheel landing was 44-85840, N620L:

And I'm not crazy about Boeing Bee, either. Its name as a wartime training ship was Patricia; wish they'd put that back along with its training codes since there aren't any other 17s currently marked that way.

Unfortunately, the restoration sponsor gets to dicate colors and markings which is why the FG-1D fished out of Lake Washington went from glossy Sea Blue when it crashed to tricolored. The sponsor of 17W's restoration thought Boeing Bee was 'appropriate'

Then it's been repainted, it was three tone and I haven't ventured to MoF for many many moons. and Chris I thank you for that , Chris B.thanks for clearing up the T-T-T information, the widely spread word had it that the airplane was 17W.
That's what I love about this place, you can count on getting the straight info from someone who's more in the know and then we can make our own information corrections (GEEZ! Now I've got to turn over the compost pile again  )

It's been repainted but that's not surprising, need to 'freshen up the displays you know' and I'm sure there's some time limit on sponsorship.
