Best place to get information on the B-25 Tribute to the Doolittle Raiders at the 70th Anniversary Reunion of the Doolittle Raiders is:

www.doolittle-raiders.org

and http://www.champaignaviationmuseum.org/ ... _B-25s.php

Been listening to Warbird Radio all morning. Today through Wednesday is a pledge drive to raise money for the Raiders. It's been great to listen to some of the interviews from the Raiders themselves, and the folks involved.

http://www.warbirdradio.com

I plan on donating some of my art prints for tomorrow's broadcast to continue to raise fuel money for the B-25s going to the Reunion.

Dakota Kid II - P-51D (Thank Matt Jolley for this) :supz:
Aleutian Tiger - P-40K
Whistling Dealth "Kathleen" - FG-1D
Last Samurai - A6M2 Zero (real deal, no replica)

That is going to be awesome!

I asked this question in 2010, but I was really hoping somebody might be able to help me locate a photo from the 2010 Reunion. On the morning of the 17th the Raiders went around to each airplane for a photo op with the crews. I would really like to get a copy of one of these pictures if anyone out there has, or knows someone who took some of those pictures. If you do, please get with me or PM me. Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much BK. That is the exact type of photo that I am looking for. Unfortunately I really am looking for the photo of Wild Cargo with the Crew in front.

Here's one of the old AAF "pinwheel patch" as shown as a shoulder patch on Van Johnson in the movie "Thirty Seconds over Tokyo" ... and then replaced by the Hap Arnold Wings.

Gettin' the car prepped for the drive up... my Mom actually lives in Urbana, about 2 miles from Grimes Field, so it's a perfect excuse for a visit. :D Sorry to see "Wild Cargo" won't make it, but am incredibly stoked about seeing the rest of them! Driving up Sunday, will be out there Mon-Wed, driving home Thursday.

And yeah, I may try to find a B-25 ride as well, to honor my family member Lt. Frederic Ritger, 446th BS/321st BG, 68 missions in the Med. :)

Starting to get stoked!!!!

Lynn

It won't be hard to find a ride. There are supposed to be 5 Mitchells selling rides Sat, Sun and Mon. And weather permitting, I'm sure many crews will be out doing "maneuvers".

Mr. Duffy needed some "ballast" last time in Urbana, so I volunteered! (I also tugged his plane out of the soft parking space after it settled in substantially.) Here's a taste of my sortie in TAKE OFF TIME:

Planning to fly a single-engine into either Urbana or Greene Co/Jackson by 11am on the 18th in order to drive by car to W-P in time to see the B-25 launch and flyby, then return to the airport and fly home. Not sure yet if we're a group of 2 or 4 persons.

If there is anyone who has extra car seats who would allow us to ride over with them to W-P, we'd obviously buy your gas, etc. Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,
Ken

Heading out today for Ohio! :D Coverage of the reunion will begin this Sunday (www.warbirdradio.com) and will really kickoff with lots of activity this Monday. As Larry Kelley said this morning on Warbird Radio LIVE we'll keep WarbirdRadio.com and our Facebook page up to date with instant information (especially in the event of weather issues). Find us at Facebook.com/warbirdradio for the fastest updates and pictures.

We'll also be broadcasting the fly-over LIVE if possible. Have I mentioned that I absolutely can't wait to get there..... See you there!!

Matt

I will be in Miss Mitchell, we are one of the birds selling rides. If we can get an APU at Urbana I will be happy to do demos of our working tail and upper turrets. Ask for me if interested, looking forward to seeing many of you there. Nate

I spent about 5 hours out at Urbana today. 6 B-25s arrived to join Champaign Gal - Executive Sweet, Yankee Warrior, Pacific Princess, Barbie III, Tondelayo, & Yellow Rose. Executive Sweet and Yankee Warrior both flew a revenue ride while I was there.

Thanks for the update BK. If you get a chance, please update WIX with any new arrivals. I am trying to make it down on Sun or Mon.
