Yeah I got the title wrong as it's been years since I read the book but the message and courage stays! Could you survive having your airplane blowup under you, slam into a karst ridge and evade capture deep in Indian territory with a shattered leg and a smashed hand for weeks? Stong stuff and worth as Enemy Ace says having everyone read.
i think it would be a fitting tribute to put his markings on the bird and a plaque describing the action.
