This is what is posted on the CAF's website. When you click the button to get updates on Fifi, this is what you get:

"August 7, 2010

Due to continued mechanical issues with the number 2 engine, FIFI's flights are delayed until further notice.
Please continue to check this Web site for updated information or call the Commemorative Air Force at (432) 563-1000."

I'm with Pogo, someone please at least give us a hint as to what's going on! (pretty please?)

Everybody has been too busy to post anything. Four of us were working on #2 until nearly 2300 last night and everyone attacked her again this morning. I'm driving back to Oklahoma right now so I finally have time to respond. There are a couple of problems creeping up but nothing too cosmic. Like any other 65 year old woman with new hips, knees and heart, she is going to take a while to recover and will have some problems to overcome. There isn't any secrets. Everybody just wants to make sure we know what the trouble is before we start spreading the word. Everybody just hang tight. I'm sure Dave will make a post as soon as he has a moment to draw a breath.

As strange as this may seem, we are not so surprised at the first initial problems we have encountered. The second flight gave us issues with the #2 engine and her name is "MITZI"!! The problem was a few back fires after takeoff and no other obvious indications. After returning to the hangar, we discovered a failed right mag. distributor. After a late nite run, she still was not happy and further trouble shooting would continue.

As I always say" she will give up her dirty little secrets" Sometimes she makes us work alittle harder to find them!! But we always do!!!

Thanks Dave! I think we are all letting out a sigh of relief now! Yep, these little things happen from time to time, but I know you and your team will have "Mitzi" back up running with her sisters in no time!

Sorry...sounded more feminine than "finicky".

(You can't get upset with Mitzi, can you?)

You know, Mitzi Gaynor is still alive and kicking. Great PR opportunity for Mitzi to meet Mitzi....

I've been on vacation, so I'm just hearing about all this. Congrats you guys! Sorry to hear about Mitzi giving you grief, but I'm sure you'll straighten her out in good time. :drinkers:
