Hang tough and take it a day at a time. I wish for a quick and full recovery for Jeff. I had a bowel op last summer, and they didn't know if they would have to resection or not, it turned out not. The road to recovery has it's hard points, but my thoughts are with you. All the very best to Jeff and his family in these hard times. I mean that most sincerely.

Ok, I'm going to post all of today's updates here so people do not need to hunt around.
This mornings update.
Thank you very much!! We are doing ok. I am surrounded by amazing people who are taking good care of us. Prayers and just general positive thoughts are helping. Jeff is making small improvements every few hours but is extremely sick and far from stable. I am not restricting any visitors because Jeff is actually responding very well to them When I hug and kiss him his blood pressure goes up! His nurse tonight is laughing at me because of it. We are on Mcclure 3 the surgical I.C.U. And they are really good about visitors. I have also told his nurse that if anyone calls it is ok for thhem to give a brief update but please remember that every phone call takes the nurse away from the patient! All I ask is that anyone who is even slightly sick stay away since Jeff is so so ill that he could not tolerate anymore. Thank you!
Love,
Bonnie
3pm update.
Im sitting next to him right now. He has been maintaining his blood pressure without any help for over 12 hours now and breathing on his own since 9am. They shut off the sedation at noon and we are waiting for him to wake up more before the breathing tube can be pulled out. Today the doctors actually said positive things so that is encouraging. They said he is finally no longer the sickest person here anymore. Please share with his friends!! Love, Bonnie
And then there is the 5pm update.
Another update.....Jeff has had a little problem. They aren't removing the tube. The doc is here and will watch him for the next hour. If he does not begin to bounce back he's going to the o.r.
That is the name of the game Two steps forward one step back
As I recieve these I will post them.

Thanks. I appreciate these updates. This is absolutely terrible to know one of our friends is walking a very thin line right now. I have never met Jeff, but I hope to soon. And just from his postings, he seems like one of the most up standing and down to earth kind of guys out there. I'm still hoping and praying for his eventual recovery to come more quickly.
We are all behind you Jeff!!!!

I've known Jeff for a number of years now and he is a great guy. You could have bowled me over with a feather when I got the first notice about this yesterday morning.
Here is a picture I got of Jeff last May at the Hardwick Spring Festival Parade behind the wheel of his 5 ton tractor.
