This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Our Waukesha mafia is bringing two T-33s and a T-37. T-33s will likely arrive on Saturday. Will update later on the Tweet.
Sounds Great, Paul. I assume the T-33s arrive Saturday, July 24. Can we expect to see both T-33s in the air on Friday, July 30 and perhaps Saturday, July 31? And maybe the T-37 (and T-33s?) in the Vietnam Era Salute on Wednesday, July 28?

Jim,
We'll do everything we can to make sure all three jets fly at every possible opportunity...going to get another buddy checked out in the T-33 so we can fly all three jets at the same time. Right now there are two of us qualified on both jet types.

OUTSTANDING, Paul! We really appreciate your enthusiasm and hard work in sharing the T-33's and T-37 with us. Can't wait to see these classic jets in the air this summer. Keep up the great work.

Any chance a certain SuperSabre from Indiana might make the trip up for Wednesday?

We can always HOPE. Wouldn't that be icing on the cake to see that beautiful F-100 flying in the Vietnam Era salute with the A-4, A-1 and others..........?

Man - you guys are at this EARLY this year! I don't get on WIX as much as I used to since the IS cops at work are clamping down and home satellite is slow. I will be there as usual.
Any WIX'ers going to Hops & Props this weekend? We'll be there as well - it's a good tasting and I need to visit my old friend Tom over in Sacred Heart Cemetery just off of 9-27.
Hey - dumb idea here and forgive me if it's already been thrashed. Has anyone talked about WIX name tags for airshows and other gatherings? Just wondering how many times I've stood next to another WIX'er at OSH, Reno, Sun n Fun etc without realizing it. Just an engraved plastic name tag with "WIX" in big letters and your screen name.
Just a thought

There is a chance Zach, Barry, and I may be at Hops and Props. As far as nametags go, I think that it would be great.

OK - I know I'll recognize Zach. Been 2 years since I saw you at Zach's party, though.
Regarding name tags, I'll see if I can figure out who sells them in the Exhibit hangar during Airventure and maybe we can order ahead - pick them up at the show. Got a graphic artsy friend who could come up with a design I'm sure.

I may even be able to get name tags made up at work. We have a laser engraver now for plaques and things that would be perfect for making name tags. There might be a small fee involved though. I'll check into it.

Mr. C, it must be Tuesday...
Cavanaugh has announced they're bringing the C-47.

I do find the marketing claims of the EAA regarding the 'world record DC-3 formation' to be somewhat bizarre. Haven't they heard of June 6 1944? Arnhem? The Rhine crossing?
Regardless, it should be a spectacular arrival. I'm already looking forward to the last week in July.

Mike, I am not sure about the "world record DC-3 formation" claim from EAA - I don't see it on the website anywhere, but I may have missed it.
I do see where they refer to the "largest gathering if DC-3's since World War II." Certainly a formation of about 40 DC-3s/C-47s is not nearly as many as were in the air for the big paratrooper drops of WWII. Of course since those were military C-47s and some of the ones at Oshkosh are strictly civil DC-3s, it is conceivable that this will be a world record gathering of civil DC-3's and former military C-47 and other type military type designated aircraft of the DC-3 type.
I agree that it should be a spectacular arrival on July 26, and I am very much anticipating being there that afternoon to witness it.

Apparently the current record for a post-WWII civil formation of DC-3's was 27 back in 1985, hopefully to be eclipsed by a formation of 40 this year:

From a media release sent out by the EAA today
"The previous world record for a DC-3 formation is 27 aircraft in 1985."
