Can someone explain how the new "Hinz" filter works on the engine?

Has it been installed on any other warbirds?

Will it work on radial engines as well?

Thanks.

If anyone has any pull at this web link
http://www.cafsmw.org/aircraft/P-51C/
Please have them correct the AAF base in Florida, is lists Pinelle AAF, is should be Pinellas AAF Base which is now St Petersburg/Clearwater International, 8 miles north of me. Wow, a local connection to her...cool! Be nice to do a profile of her in her 3rd AF training paint. Anyone have any pics of her from then?

First I want to congratulate all involved for the beautiful restoration of the Red Tail. I know Don is proud of all of you....
This "Hinz" Filter is similar in design to the ADC micron screen filter which has a chip detetector and bypass light. Check it out here....

I bought one for my Citabria but have not installed it yet....
I think every warbird should have a "Hinz" filter!!!
It is a tribute to the memory of Gerry and Don....
