Hmmm... wonder if we could get an Army Heritage flight going - something like an L-5 with an OH-58 or such.

OK, I've seen some very cool flights of some very cool aircraft, but normally I usually see the typical P-51 & F-16 or F-15. So what really is the program for these flights? ... do you all have a very tough schedule of training? ... can anyone who flies these flights shed a bit of info as to what goes into the training for these flights? .... I would assume that not just owning a warbird is good enough. What and who decides who flies with modern military aircraft in these flights?

... I would love to see a B-52 & B-17. That would change my mind. Never seen that before. There's a reason why we see these flights at airshows. 9 out of 10 really enjoy them .... keep it up.

I think the Heritage Flight is the best act on the circuit... even better when the warbird adds a solo show... Reg did a fantastic show in the Mustang. Just watch the crowd... they pay way more attention to the Heritage than they do the Flip-Flops....

This is a formation pic that should satisfy some of your desire for mixed formations... Tar Heel Hal and Ruff Stuff at the Lone Star Flight Museum Show 4/26/08:

I just saw a video of that recently. The plane in the slot position looked rather familiar.

btw Vlado are there any plans for a Heritage Flight this year at Rockford Airfest? (i'm hoping i can get my hands on a better camera for this year)

In a modern world where everything has become so disposable, and when the average high school graduate has a dim idea of even modern American History, I think the Heritage Flights a glorious thing. I think the services should be applauded for remembering there roots and paying tribute to those that have come before.

The heritage flights never fail to raise the hairs on the back of my neck. Ive seen the P-38, P-51, F-4 and F-15 at Langley. In Columbus I saw the P-51, F-15, F-16 and F-22.

Like the Heritage Flights? Love them. A great way to remember the fallen. A great way to honor those that served. A great way to look to the future.

Thanks!

Vlado,

Tony and I are flying down two-ship with the P-51/T-33 for the day on Saturday so I'll see you at Janesville as well.

By that, of course, you mean RCAF livery. :) Like they used to have. Team that with Potter's Spitfire and Sabre and a CF-18 and NOW you might get me interested.

I wish that once a year they would have a USAF fighter and bomber mass fly over of Washington D.C. Kinda like they did back in the cold war. Not only would it boost moral it would be pretty cool!!!! :D

I would love to see a T-33/F-86/F-104/ F-4 flight. That would be cool too! 8) Heck throw in a T-38 as well. 8)

I like the Heritage and Legacy flights too. The more airplanes in the flight, the better. One that I haven't had a chance to photograph yet is an A-10 with a P-47 (thunderbolt I and II). A bomber heritage flight would be very cool. I'd also like to see a C-47 and a C-17.

You might say I enjoy them... I only wish I had a better camera. But for now, my money priorities are in a different area - actually flying.
