I only had a couple of spare hours on Monday unfortunately. Hopefully I'll get a little more notice next time!

Thanks, Jack. When we had to have the airplane repainted, the painter sort of frowned on going with the original paint scheme from '64--too many curved masking lines! He really did a great job after he got over the shock.

skymstr02,
According to the Mooney sales brochure, the Johnson Bar gear retraction system is a wonderfully easy operation:

In addition, notice how comfortable the back seat appears in the brochure. If you have spent a few hours back there, you know why they have "truth in advertising" laws.

VCS1,

I noticed your BT was disposed of at Eagle Field according to the notation at the bottom of the card. My father owns Eagle Field and I possibly may have some original log books for your aircraft as we have several log books for aircraft that were disposed of at Eagle Field that were left there during the war. I will check at my next opportunity.

Yeah, I still have it. I don't have an online picture sharing account.

Sorry brain fart, is that when you were here(in the area)? We still had a lot of people coming in to visit anyways so it wouldn't have mattered.

Did you do the conversion to the 985? If so how did you acquirer the firewall forward, is the mount the same and cowling off a T-6? It look's Great, I had the chance to see it at Sun n Fun ! I would love to see some pictures of the restoration process.

I had a BT-13 for a few years till the fuel leaks got the better of me, the Pratt and Whitney 985 was the best part of that plane and I always thought a BT-14 conversion would be cool!

It would be great if you could start a new thread in the maintenance hangar?

Steve, we used a T-6 engine mount and oil tank. The cowling started as a T-6 cowling and was 'cut down'. Had to make a couple panels.
Still have all of the Yale firewall foward if any one is interested.
