This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

?????

In the grand scheme of things, I'm really a "nobody". I'm not a pilot. I'm not an A&P mechanic. I don't own a warbird. I don't know bunches of great warriors. I'm not on a first-name basis with the "who's who" of the warbird world. I wouldn't know most of them if they walked right up and looked me in the eye. I'm just a part-time, unskilled, volunteer "worker droid" at a small museum. I don't know if my opinions and views carry any weight here or not, but something's wrong here, and it really bothers me.

Are we twins :?: 8)

Maybe almost twins Jack? You have known many great warriors within your family and outside of your
family and you often share their history with us, many times with photos..a significance which some
of the newbies missed or didn't know during "the fracas" this week.

"It's not who ya know but rather who ya are!!!"
That it the most profound thing I've uttered in 45 years :!:

Ya' ain't slidn' outta this one Jack...Who YOU are is complimented greatly by how you choose to remember
those who you've known and their compadres..."Who's", who certainly deserve being remembered!

Did y'all catch that?!? Last time there was a drop like that we got Gary's masterpiece...

Woot!

I'm glad this conversation is going on - in a civil manner.

I too am a nobody in the warbird world...I have a few years of the same stuff that Dean is doing...lucky enough to be able to hang around with the Chuckie crew and earn a few rides...

I have been watching and working this board the past week or so and it has been tough to see.

The internet breeds this kind of rancor if we are not very careful with our words. That's all we have is our words here...no body language..no inflection in our speech...no smiles...just the black and white words.

We just need to think before we hit the go button...and use smilies! :P

WIX is great fun! remember that's why we are here...to share stuff and have fun doing it.

By the way, I'm not ashamed of my little racer...not even a little bit. I'm quite proud of it and proud to be the custodian of such cool racing history. I just thought that since it's not Warbird related whatsoever, that it isn't going to get the attention that something like the ol' B-24 project got. However, I think it's great that a few of y'all are interested in the racer and I look forward to getting the tiny beast around those pylons soon!

So what's this breaking news from the Foundation, Jim? :D

Dan, you said a mouthful there. Volunteers seem to be pretty scarce this winter. :?

Two cannibals are in the jungle eating a clown.

One cannibal looks at the other and says "Does this taste funny to you?"

If you can't laugh, what is the point of being alive?

I hope it's either the 262 or an F-105! Either one would be superb!
