Nice shots! Keep 'em coming. I love the clouds in that Raptor shot.

I should have some more to post later tonight if things go well.

Probably the last batch unless you want to see non-Warbirds. Thanks for looking and all the nice comments!

Garbs, keep 'em coming -- your shots are wonderful!

Spook, I'll take non-warbirds if I can get away with it here. As long as they're seriously cool vintage birds, I'm happy! 8)

I hope others will post up and not get too worried about beauty contests. I for one get a little weary of super slick photography believe it or not, and really enjoy the candid nature of the less polished examples ... they tend to give me a heightened feeling of having been there myself. Probably 'cuz 'unpolished' describes my own photography skills? Who knows... :D

OK - less polished it is! Latest installment, after the Great Blackout and a Labor Day weekend camping trip. Still have Camp Scholler dust on the camper awning - will have to camp in the rain some day before winter, I guess.

That's most of what I have in Photobucket so far. I'll get a few more uploaded when I get a chance.

Spook, you da man, especially with finding the right perspective/angle for your shots. In the last batch, the b&W Glacier Girl was a time capsule and the cloud deck above the Mohawk was just awesome. (and seeing Wiley Sanders' DC-3 in the background didn't hurt, either.)

Thanks for taking the time to share!

Ken

Thanks for the nice comments. I spend alot of time laying on the ground to get some of my shots. I get funny looks but I also get a different perspective as well.

Series on the Demo Air Racers. Some are a bit fuzzy - sorry about that.

PS - going to hit Reno for the first time this year. Only Sat & Sun though - not sure if I'm going to pack the big camera & lens yet.

Garbs, for my money you're a killer photog, I'm finding even the fuzzies are fantastic. Thanks again for the posts!

That Super Corsair always looks smaller than a "regular" Corsair. I mean, the guy inside looks like he's in a 3/4 replica or something. Wonder why that is?

Thanks, Pogo, but I can't take much credit for technology. 6.2 MP and a 500 mm lens bring them right up front. You have to sort a lot of fuzzy ones shooting at 1/180th of a second or so so you don't freeze the props(jets are easy!). Then the haze has to be low or they all look like like plastic models in front of a bed sheet.

I have to confess I do love the F2G-1D. Odegaard is such a good guy too if you ever get a chance to meet him. I was very pleasantly surprised that they came back to OSH after the incident last year. They just said it wasn't really an option.

I have lots more - just scratching the surface. I'll upload more to Photobucket soon. Here's the last of the ones that are there now.

Got a few more uploaded. I have enough for about 4 more posts - then I'll let this thread die a merciful death (unless someone else takes over).

Here's some 51's on short final from early in the show when the haze was bad:

Bombers today. Sorry about the double post yesterday. My browser locked up and it didn't look like the first one went. I'll try to delete one.

Garbs,

That second shot with the '25 and the pink clouds behind is a lovely shot, reminds me of a few classic warbird artists paintings! :D
