Who is going to do the first test flight?

Not Fred or I.
I think the process of elimination leaves Jim.

I kind of figured that, but I didn't know if you guys "imported" a Brit to do the honors since it hadn't flown before. Also, I wasn't aware that Jim had been checked out in the Spit yet.

He wants to fly the Spit before a Democratic Administration takes office.

Jim has flown a few Spitfires including one with the Griffon. He is looking forward to some decent weather to get this one airborne. Tomorrow looks like slush, sleet and freezing rain. Fred must feel at home.

Excellent! Thanks for the info!

Question - Is Jim going to be putting any video cameras in the Spit like he did with the Mustang, so we can all live vicariously through the lens during his aerobatic routines? That would be cool! :)

We have a hard enough time fitting a pilot in it. Remember I needed my 10 yo had to install some of the hardware as there are many small areas. We might have to get him to hold the camera as well.

Surely, there's enough room somewhere on the plane to install one of those tiny lipstick cameras? They have video cameras now barely larger than a deck of cards. The solid state video cameras are even smaller!

Just some wishful thinking! :D

Tell Jim to look into a winter home here in Phoenix. Sunny and 60 degrees today, just right for flying!

Sounds a bit 'extreme' for Pommie weather. Canadian Mrs JDK has observed southern Brits don't know what to do when it snows.

Now if it was drizzling, I'm sure Fred would feel right at home. They don't call it Ducks ford for nothing. ;)

Regards to Fred - Hey, Fred, try and convince them of the merits of warm beer with an alcohol content. They might be receptive, going by the weather...

Fred has stated that he kinda likes it here in the colonies.
The women warm and the beer cold.

I recently received a call.
Jim and Fred braved the icy roads and managed a flight. Around my house people were hitting the power poles so I missed it.

You we got her in the air today. Just magnificent. The flight went very well. Need a minor mixture adjustment, cut about 50rpm off (she went to 2800 at takeoff power), and that's about it. Fred and the gang at TFC really outdid themselves on this one.

oops hurry and get the gear up going too fast

after a safe flight. Log 0.8 for the good guys.
