I am taking the risk to make my comments.

First, it is up to the owner to have her plane sprayed in any color scheme he likes.

Secondly, as enthusiast, I prefer to see a well-loved warbird flying in an unauthentic c/s insteas of looking at a perfecly accurate museum exhibit collecting dust;

If, this airframe as asignificant Air Racing History, why not leave her in a racing trim?

Otherwise, as you might assume, I dare to tell you that I would prefer to se her in the red German TT scheme.

No offense and best regards

Willy

Willy, I'm with you on the German Target Tug scheme! I've always liked the less popular, but accurate paint schemes on airplanes. (And don't tell anyone, but I'd love to see a flying Tigercat restored as a fire bomber too.) :shock: But don't get me wrong, I think it is purely up to the owner of each aircraft to decide what he/she does with it. If Doug and the Cavanaugh bunch want to paint their Fury with polka dots and psychadelic colors, then so be it.

I'm with you here, as long as it is flying, great, but I'd rather see it flying, and RACING.

Never did understand the Conch Fury!
Ive never seen an angry Conch!

Anyway, I could really use a Rum Runner from Fat Tuesdays and a stroll down Duval!

Spookyboss,

As far as the Corsair is concerned, we're still waiting for the engine.

As for the Sea Fury, if it goes racing again, it won't be as "Conch Fury". We removed all the "decals" from the aircraft, leaving just the RAN 103 NAVY markings.

Doug had suggested to Jim Cavanaugh that we remove "onch" from "Conch" leaving it as "C Fury", but Jim just wanted it without a name for now. However, being the owner, Jim may change his mind, may change the color scheme, may even race it...... Jim will no doubt let Doug know what the next step is in his own good time.

Personally (and this is purely my own personal preference and is in no way influenced by any decision Jim has already made, or might make in the future.. :wink: ), I would like to see the aircraft back in its original RNVR colors.

Julian

Anyone know the status of the airframe wreckage since the accident at Reno? I see Cavanaugh has taken the airplane off their inventory list on the website. Any plans to rebuild it?
