I have not resized this scan, so apologies if it messes up your screen layout. But it's worth it for the details.

Doing some further reading on the Napier Sabre.
Oil consumption at cruise power is 27 litres per hour!!
That's more than 7 U.S. Gallons

Wild!

Flight Dojo on Youtube has a couple of very in depth videos about the Sabre. He gets right into it, though you'll have to excuse him pronouncing it as Neh-peer in the first one. He knows now and he's very sorry!

Right, so he's got a Sabre III next to the fuselage and the green one is a Sabre V. That V is the correct engine for a Tempest, based on my list (posted previously) the III is a Firebrand engine with a different rpm setup. So based on the dataplates, the green engine is still the winner
The Tempest V project is going into a higher gear... things are going to get exciting!

Rip Van Winkle will be able to finish his nap by the time this project gets done, and that is no reflection on the shop that is doing the work. Glad to see it is moving ahead again however.

Excellent news.
Richard seems to (understandably) be chomping at the bit to get this Tempest up and running.
I wish him and his team the best.

Richard clearly mentions somewhere in the first or second video that it's the noisy part of the beast that is going to determine where the restoration timeline ends. I'm sure it will take a lot longer than we all hope... but at least it will be progressing.

The noisy bit up front  .
Clearly, he also has someone in mind who feels like they have the wherewithal to take the Sabre on.
If the engine is as low time, as Richard seems to imply, then that will help for sure.
Of all of the potential Sabre powered projects, this one has resumed progress, in the lead.
Most of the biggest bits seem to be present.

I was recently watching one of the Typhoon Legacy YouTubes with Ian Slater.
There was a 4 blade prop hub under the work bench.
I believe that is high up on Kermits wish list. Wonder if there is anything that Ian would want in trade, like the use of those cowl forming bucks for starters. Everyone would end up ahead if there is cooperation amongst these projects.
