Just looking at some of the other photos contained in the Flickr account, with regard to this photo (https://www.flickr.com/photos/142209609 ... ji5-TJEj6m), taken in 1944, showing the ground collision of an SBD-5 and a P-51B - that particular SBD-5 happens to be the very same Dauntless still flying today, operated by the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, SBD-5 BuNo.54532 (once mistakenly registered as an A-24B 42-54532 due a War Assets Administration screw up way back when it was originally sold surplus in 1947).

Mark I saw previously there was a collection of Dinwiddie's WWII papers on Ebay at about the same time as these color photos - you didnt happen to buy these as well ?

Goes to show ya's that there still are great hidden away/private collections most folks have not seen still out there. The hope is that these ebay'ers don't piecemeal away photos from albums and that they at least sell them as a whole as they belong. Wishful thinking of course.

Sadly I have purchased many pictures off of eBay torn from albums that some cared for and put forth a lot of effort to build on only to be trashed by the family looking to make a buck...
