Dumb question time. It is often stated that Hall had at least three F-86As. One is the plane at discussion in this thread, one is now in on static display in Canada, and the third (49-1324) was still registered to Hall until cancelled by the FAA. So was this last aircraft just paperwork or is there an actual surviving airframe somewhere?

Interesting question. F-86A 47-606 (the second oldest Sabre) was certainly part of the recovery, and 49-1324 was likewise a donated ex-CA ANG F-86A.

However, though I have photographic proof that '606 was recovered, I have never seen proof of '1324.

Of note however, I have another photo of '178 taken during restoration, and sitting alongside are THREE F-86E/F fwd fuselages (no sign of any F-86As either). One of these was the GunVal machine which later went to Merle Maine, but I have no idea what the other two were, or where they went.
