I love the P-38 recon photos. I saw one once that showed an F-5 right down on the deck flying down the beaches prior to the invasion. The photo captured the F-5s shadow, he could not have been any higher than 75ft.

Love the shot of the Invasion stripes being added to the Spitfire. That is exactly how D-Day stripes to look on today's warbirds!!

That was something I noticed on the Typhoon pictures posted in another thread. The stripes on the gear doors are crisp, and I bet they line up with the wing stripes perfectly. I doubt many bothered with the gear doors at all, and pretty sure they wouldn't even be close if they did.

The tank shot with the doll on the post was creepy. Sort of brings the focus of the Civilian casualties to light.

I'm pleased to see the photo of a 452nd Bomb Group (Square L) B-17. My father flew 32 missions (including D-Day) with that group in 1944, and published pictures of them seem quite rare. Who knows, maybe he's looking out the waist window in that photo.
